Nissan has shown a modification of the latest Z sports coupe for the racetrack. The sports car, named Z GT500, made by Nismo division, will go to the start already in 2022 and will replace the track model GT-R.

The Nissan Z GT500 track car has been prepared for the Japanese Super GT racing series. According to the regulations, it will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo unit, the capacity of which should not exceed 650 horsepower. At the same time, the weight of the machine itself, together with the pilot and the fuel supply, is limited to 1 thousand 030 kg. Official technical parameters of the new Nissan Z GT500 have not yet been released.

The presented images clearly show that in addition to the new power plant, the sports car will also receive an aerodynamic body kit with a large splitter, extended wheel arches, and a massive wing.

Honda (NSX GT500) and Toyota (GR Supra GT500) participate in the same racing series with similar sports cars. The Nissan GT-R GT500, which will be replaced by a new product, debuted back in 2008. Since then, this car has won five championships in its class.

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
