The design of the commercial version of the Honda N7X concept was revealed on the Web, the future novelty “lit up” on patent images published by the AutonetMagz portal. It is expected that this is a crossover, which will enter the market as a new generation BR-V model, and the first country for an SUV will be Indonesia.
Recall that the N7X concept, the name of which stands for New 7-Seater eXcitement, was presented by the Indonesian division of Honda in May this year. The car made its debut almost incognito: the manufacturer did not talk about the serial prospects and did not disclose the characteristics of the car.
Now, on the Internet, patent images of the new Honda crossover have appeared in the public domain. It is assumed that this is the production version of the N7X concept. Most likely, the novelty will enter the market as the second generation of the BR-V model, which has been produced since 2016.
Recall that the three-row SUV Honda BR-V is based on the Mobilo compact van. The crossover has undergone several upgrades since 2016, but over time it has ceased to attract buyers. Official sales statistics regularly decreased: in 2017, about 22,000 cars were sold, in 2018 – 9,100 units, in 2019 – 6,200 copies, in 2020 – 2,289 cars were sold at all. The new crossover, which retains the design of its predecessor, is expected by Honda to change the trend.
The new crossover has, in comparison with the BR-V, a more modern and solid appearance. The car will receive a new bumper, where instead of round foglights, LED DRL strips appeared. The salon of the novelty has not yet been shown on patent images, but it is known that it will be seven-seater.
According to unofficial data, the engine in the serial Honda N7X will be from its predecessor – it is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol power plant, which produces 120 hp. and comes paired with a manual transmission and a variator. The car is expected to be presented with front-wheel drive.
