Renault can close four plants in France, including the plant in Dieppe, where it launched production of the sports car Alpine A110. As reported by Automotive News, due to the reduction in production volumes without successors is a risk to lose six brand model: Megane, Koleos, the Talisman, Scenic, Espace, and the Alpine A110. Their continued existence is under threat.
Renault is preparing a major restructuring that will allow the company to cut costs and save more than two billion euros by 2022. According to the newspaper, we can talk about the closure of the factory in Dieppe – it has a workforce of about 400 employees. The company will also have to decide the further destiny of the plant parts on the outskirts of Paris, the site for the production of engines and transmissions in Lorient, Assembly plant in Yvelines.
Reuters, in turn, noted that Renault, which is partly owned by the state, may obtain from the French government a loan of five billion euros. This can put an end to the question of possible reduction of volumes of production and refusal of a number of models.
The financial report of the group of companies Renault for the first quarter of 2020, it follows that total revenue decreased by 19.2 percent, to 10,125 billion euros.
