Renault will be distributed to all the residents of a small town in the South of France electric hatchback Zoe. The aim of the experiment confirm the possibility of a mass transition to “green” cars and demonstrate them in daily operation.
Lucky, who for three years will receive free use of brand new Renault Zoe, were residents of the municipality of APPI, part of the ariège. A tiny town located in the South of France – and is considered the most isolated settlement in the country. In 2017 the population of Appy was only 24. It is here that it will be an experiment, which, if all goes well, will prove that electric vehicles can be used not only in the city, but, for example, in the mountainous communes.
Each car will come with a wall charger. In addition, Renault will establish in the campus social “column” DC. Using it just for half an hour, the power reserve Zoe can be increased by 145 kilometres. During the experiment, the latter-day owners of electric vehicles will share their impressions and Renault will be able to analyze the usage of the vehicle outside the urban environment.
The Renault Zoe hatchback is 108 – and 135-horsepower electric motor, traction battery with a capacity of 52 kilowatt-hour and a power reserve of 390 km on the WLTP cycle. Sales model are steadily increasing since 2012 and in 2019 amounted to 45 219 copies. In France, prices for Zoe start from € 32,000.
