The French brand is redesigning its rhombus, focusing on a more modern and simple style for its future models. The badge that was introduced on the Renault 5 Prototype concept car, which, thanks to its flatter styling, will also highlight the badge on electric models.
Renault’s recently unveiled electric novelty also showed something that went unnoticed by the press – the Renault 5 prototype received a new logo, both front and rear, but the front was really important. The fact is that the brand has decided to change its approach to the design of the badge. Farewell to the prevailing three-dimensional style that gave the logo a more luxurious look. The bet is now on two lines that form a smaller and flatter mark – it will appear on all future models of the brand. One of the features is that it allows you to integrate the nameplate into the light panels.
Renault’s new logo is the 12th in the history of the French brand and the 9th in the form of a geometric shape. The last change dates back to 2015.
Electric vehicles will be equipped with lighting that makes the French brand stand out more. This new, simpler and more modern logo will be replaced in all areas of the manufacturer. The new image was not reflected in the new business strategy of the Renaulution plan, presented in early January last year, but it was reflected in the Renault 5 prototype presented earlier.
Sources at Renault confirmed to the German magazine Auto Motor Und Sport that the image change is effective, noting that “the group is gradually changing the Renault brand logo across all communication channels. The logo on cars and dealerships was not initially damaged. But this will happen, and the new Renault Megane eVision and Kadjar are the first candidates.
