The subcompact hatchback Renault Zoe surpassed all other electric vehicles, with 84,000 cars sold in a year.
According to figures released by the French automaker, more than 84,000 units of battery-powered Zoe superminis were sold between January and November 2020. This is almost twice as much as in the same period last year.
The Renault Zoe has become a bestseller among passenger electric cars in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Since the launch of production of the model in 2012, Renault has produced and sold more than 268 thousand of these cars in Europe.
Almost a third of the electric “heels” sold on the Old continent during the year are Renault Kangoo Z. E., so the French manufacturer also has the crown of the best-selling electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) – 8,498 cars sold in a year. And since its launch 10 years ago, 57,595 Kangoo Z. E.’s have been sold in Europe.
In addition to the Zoe and Kangoo Z. E., the current Renault model range includes two more electric vehicles: the tiny Twizy and the Master Z. E.-a commercial van with a payload of up to 3.5 tons.
Now the manufacturer is working on a production version of the prototype of the Megane eVision Concept-a compact electric crossover, related to the Nissan Ariya.
The Renault Megane eVision concept was equipped with an electric motor with a recoil of 217 HP and a torque of 300 Nm. It is powered by a 60 kWh battery that supports fast charging up to 130 kW. Acceleration of 0-100 km / h is stated in less than 8 seconds.
