According to Volkswagen’s plans, the Passat model will soon be replaced by its electric counterpart – the Aero B model. It was this car that was recently photographed by German journalists on public roads in the Alps. Apparently, the electric car had a serial body, but was disguised as a Volkswagen Jetta.

In addition, the prototype was equipped with fake door handles and rear bumper covers for the exhaust system. Interestingly, this car could have been made in the body of a liftback, and not a sedan, as previously expected. In other words, the model looks more like the Volkswagen Arteon, not the Passat, which is great – it will be more convenient for users to load their suitcases into the trunk.

Note that the technical characteristics of the model are not yet known. Volkswagen is expected to offer users a rear-wheel drive, single-engine Aero B configuration, as well as a twin-engine version as a “charged” model. It is expected that the all-wheel drive electric car will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds.

According to preliminary data, Volkswagen will unveil its new Aero B under a different name in 2023. At the same time, in fact, the novelty will occupy the niche of a mid-size sedan and press the Volkswagen Passat. According to rumors, the next generation of the legendary car will only be offered as a station wagon.
