Rolls-Royce: a brand living in the past


The British automaker is in no hurry to ditch genuine leather, even considering the importance of environmental responsibility. According to the company’s managers, leather will be considered an attribute of luxury for a long time to come.

Earlier, Volvo and MINI announced that they will not use natural leather for upholstery in the near future. Rolls-Royce CEO Thorsten Müller-Otvos emphasized that to date, no one has asked his company to make a “vegan” salon, that is, without using materials of animal origin.

Rolls-Royce believes that the concept of luxury and premium for their brand is more expensive than a small step towards sustainability. The interior of a Rolls-Royce requires eight to nine skins of bulls, which are raised in temperate climates with a well-defined diet.
