The family of Porsche Panamera is preparing for a planned restyling, and, according to preliminary data, the main event within it will be the most severe modification liftback. It is known under the code name Lion (“lion”).
And it is this version, according to some, has already indicated the record on the most famous racetrack on the planet. Our sources claim to have seen a prototype of the Panamera at the Nurburgring in the company of timekeepers and official observers. In addition, on the track supposedly was the official photo shoot of the prototype.
It is argued that “charged” Porsche Panamera can get a reference lap of the track in 7 minutes and 11 seconds. Thus, the prototype not only almost 10 seconds ahead of the former record-class sedans – particularly the harsh Jaguar XE SV Project 8, but was faster than the ex-flagship of the brand, the Porsche 918 Spyder will.
It is worth noting that Porsche refused to clarify the details of what is happening: at the request of our American colleagues in the company said that “do not comment on projects under development or potential future products”. Thus, the company did not say “Yes” but did not say no: accordingly, the probability that the Porsche has appropriated another title continues.
As for the Panamera Lion, something about her almost nothing is known. According to one, this “Panamera” will be the flagship of the family, as it will supply the accelerated version of the hybrid power-plant from Turbo S E-Hybrid to return up to 830 HP In another version, the “lion” is only equipped with a supercharged 4.0-litre V8 from the Panamera Turbo, but its power increased from 550 to 750 HP, and the liftback passed the procedure “liposuction”, resulting in a weight of approximately 200 kg.
Anyway, the Porsche may be declassified a restyled version of the “Panamera” in the coming months, and is likely to accompany this data on the new record – of course, if it really was installed.
