Journalists captured a prototype of the updated minivan BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. The official presentation of new products scheduled for the end of 2020.
The last time we saw an updated version of the compact MPV 2 Series Active Tourer from the Bavarian brand BMW, the prototype car was spotted somewhere in a warmer climate. Now a team of engineers automaker is testing the car in winter conditions in snowy locations. Prestigious new product that is only available for European customers of the brand, and this time “wrapped up” large amounts of camouflage. But there are still some interesting features that you should pay attention to.
Those of you who are familiar with the current version of the Bavarian minivan may be tempted to say that changes in the style of the car very little.
However, if you look at the published photos closely, you will realize that there are many fundamental differences, such as changing the position of the side mirrors, and, of course, the new “face” with a large false radiator grille.
In fact, the whole car will grow a little in size compared to the current version of the model. It is expected that the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will be based on new front-drive platform FAAR from BMW, which debuted earlier in the year on the 1 Series hatchback, and thanks to which, the total length of the Active Tourer will be more like his wheelbase. Thus, the updated van should offer more space for rear passengers and Luggage compartment. It is also reported that the list of equipment of different safety technologies and driver assistance will be considerably expanded. Front-wheel drive will be standard, while all-wheel drive will be up to order for a fee. Customers will be offered inline three or four cylinder engines running on petrol or “diesel”. It is also expected the appearance and plug-in hybrid performance.
We assume that before the production car’s debut many months. Our sources say that the official presentation of novelties expected in late 2020, and positioned the car as the car 2021 model year.
