Skoda has presented its most non-standard and most futuristic model Luniaq. This is what the project of the lunar rover for servicing the base on the Earth satellite was called. This is reported by the Motor1 website.

The new Luniaq was commissioned by Skoda by stylist Thomas Rusek of the Xtend Design studio. The six-wheeled lunar rover is designed for four people and is built on the NASA MMSEV platform (it was previously used to create several variants of experimental lunar vehicles).

In fact, this is a capsule on wheels with a large panoramic window and a hatch in the back. The design contains elements of the Skoda Enyaq electric crossover.

The design of the Skoda Luniaq was well thought out. Instead of glass, a special transparent aluminum is used – it is much stronger and resistant to damage. A layer of polyurethane protects against solar radiation.

The 360-degree view is enhanced by the camera system. In addition, Michelin airless tires are used, which are not afraid of punctures.

The exact characteristics of the Skoda Luniaq were not disclosed, but it is known that the NASA MMSEV electric lunar rovers are designed for a load of 1000 kg and can accelerate to 10 km / h. The power reserve is 125 km.
