The new Skoda Octavia RS entered the service of the UK police. The five-door car will be used both for public order protection and for emergency calls. The crew of the Octavia RS was lucky: the budget decided not to save on equipment, so the liftback was completed to the maximum – only four-wheel drive is not enough.
Since the Skoda Octavia RS will serve in the regular division, the car differs from the” civilian ” liftbacks only in its characteristic yellow-blue livery, the presence of an alarm and voice device, diode flashing lights and strobe lights, as well as a communication system. Perhaps in the future, the Octavia RS will be equipped with complexes of photo-video recording of violations and other special equipment.
Under the hood of the police Octavia RS of the fourth generation is a 245-horsepower (370 Nm) 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine, the transmission is a 7 – speed “robot”, the drive is on the front axle. Factory options include matrix led optics, an advanced multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen, heated seats and adaptive cruise control.
British police often buy Skoda cars – in addition to Octavia, law enforcement officers also have Scala hatchbacks and kodiaq crossovers. If the new generation proves itself well, the Agency can buy a whole batch of “air-esok”.
