Skoda started tests of the updated Skoda Kodiaq

Engineers of the Czech brand has begun testing of the updated crossover Skoda Kodiaq. Journalists were the first to capture the car. About the official presentation of the car yet unknown.

An updated version of its flagship crossover, the Czech brand was first subjected to testing the corresponding “spy” photos of a prototype published foreign publications. Looks like we are dealing with a Sportline version, judging by the same name badge on the front wing, and also on design of cast wheels.

Despite the fact that in front of the test sample quite a lot of camouflage, we can see the new bumper design. Also, as the updated flagship Superb, 7 seater crossover Kodiaq will get matrix led headlights.

Form main clusters optics is unlikely to change very much, given how similar the elements of a Superb model was largely transferred from the old version of the model. To the disappointment of some people, it seems that the duplex setting of the headlights continues in the second half of the life cycle Kodiaq.

With the wires protruding from the back of the prototype and going into something similar to the trailer, we have a feeling that the new Kodiaq towed a dynamometer. If our assumption is true, it means that Skoda is testing a new powertrain. In spite of the changes that has undergone a Superb model Kodiaq is expected to get a 2.0 TDI (diesel), which first appeared on the new VW Passat.

The biggest change will be the emergence of plug-in hybrid setup is also inherited from the flagship sedan of VW’s version of GTE. This motor will combine 1.4-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol with an electric motor and six-speed DSG and battery on a 13 kWh. The internal combustion engine will develop a power of 156 HP, the Total power is equal to 218 HP
