Skoda starts selling elongated Octavia Pro

The new generation Skoda Octavia has reached the Chinese market. And here Skoda will be selling a special version of its model: the SAIC VW joint venture will produce the extended Octavia Pro liftback.

The wheelbase of the Skoda Octavia Pro is stretched by 44 mm – from 2686 to 2730 mm. The whole increase traditionally went to the rear passengers, so it became more spacious and comfortable in the second row. At the same time, the overall length of the Pro-version is 4753 mm versus 4689 mm for a standard liftback. Note that the flagship Superb model has a wheelbase of 2841 mm and a length of 4869 mm.

But not only the length differs from the global model, the Chinese version of the Octavia Pro. The bumpers with large plugs in the front and a pseudo-diffuser in the rear are almost the same as those of the European “charged” RS modification: running lights have been removed, but chrome elements have been added. And on the front fenders and doors of the car, additional decor has appeared.

There are some peculiarities in the interior: if the standard Octavia has the most advanced media system has a 10-inch display, then a 12.1-inch screen is provided for the Chinese version. Retained electronics (10.3 inches) and head-up display, and added original finishes.

The main in China for the Skoda Octavia Pro will be a combination of a 1.4 TSI turbo engine (150 hp) and a 7-speed “robot” DSG: they did not adapt a traditional “automatic” to this engine in China. There will also be a mechanical transmission. In addition, such Pro-liftbacks will have independent rear suspension. The cost of the basic model in the Chinese market will start from 138,900 yuan (about $ 21,400).

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
