Skoda Auto factories in the Czech Republic will stop their conveyors for more than two weeks: from December 23, 2021 to January 10, 2022 inclusive. This information is shared by the Reuters news agency.
The Czech factories of the Skoda brand will be idle due to the shortage of electronic components, which they cannot eliminate since last year.
Officially, the New Year holidays for employees of the Czech automaker will last until January 1, 2022, the rest of the days are considered forced downtime. This means that the plant workers will receive 80% of their salaries.
The automaker has calculated that by the end of December it will not produce about 20-25% of the planned number of cars.
And the announced downtime will complicate the situation with the lack of cars in the dealerships.
