The company KIA is preparing for the premiere of the new family minivan, the Carnival, known in the North American market under the name Sedona. The monocab will share a platform with the new Sorento N3, “inherit” crossover at multimediasystem and differ high-quality trim materials.

After the change of generations of the KIA Carnival will feature a new exterior design: from the discreet image of refuse in favor of the concept of “tiger mask,” so that “chip” monocab will be a diode daytime running lights, “woven” in the grille, square air intakes will increase, and lights, by contrast, will be less.

It is expected that in the fourth generation Carnival will add in the equipment and trim materials – the plastic will become soft, the seats and door cards top versions will cover in Nappa leather, and impractical glossy inserts will give way to a polished aluminum.

We can assume that infotainment system with a 10.5-inch touchscreen Carnival “analogue” the current Sorento, and the transmission selector will be replaced with the puck. However, large-scale copy of the Sorento’s interior the interior of the minivan will not, designers will surely offer a different front panel, different steering wheel, a schedule of “tidy” interface climate control.

To compete with other monocab, for example, the new generation of Toyota Sienna, Korean minivan will propose different options for the design of the exterior and “premium” options in the cabin, including heated and ventilated seats first and second row, tablets for rear passengers, niches for wireless charging gadgets, as well as advanced audio system.

One of the benefits of a minivan, the KIA may be a variety of power units: depending on the market under the hood of the Carnival is sure to get the gasoline 2.5-liter 281-horsepower (421 Nm) turbo, 2.2-liter, 202-horsepower (440 Nm) diesel and mild hybrid power plant with total capacity of 230 horsepower (350 Nm) on the basis of “turboservice” 1.6 and 60-horsepower electric motor. Optional monocab will be equipped with all-wheel drive.

The current generation KIA Carnival/Sedona is available from 2014, and in 2018, minivans have undergone restyling. According to the American press, the new monocab will show within three months, sales in South Korea will begin in late 2020, and the US minivans fourth generation back to the beginning of 2021.
