The seven-seater with an updated design, a more powerful engine and a new eight-speed gearbox has entered the UK market and will soon reach other countries.
The SsangYong Rexton received styling changes and a new eight-speed gearbox after the update. The frame SUV of the Korean company retained the 2.2-liter diesel engine, but its maximum power was increased from 178 to 199 hp.
SsangYong says the system is tuned to deliver strong torque at low revs, resulting in an acceleration time to 100 km / h in 11.9 seconds.
The revised engine is mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission from Hyundai Transys, which SsangYong claims reduces weight and vibration while improving efficiency.
In addition to the new powertrain, the Rexton has undergone changes: the front has a new radiator grille and LED headlights. The rear has also received some tweaks.
The Rexton will continue to be offered in two trim levels. Thus, the Ventura version replaced the ELX, while the Ultimate version received 18-inch alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, heated seats and other improvements.
The SsangYoung Rexton Ventura starts at £ 37,995, which is around $ 52,800, and the Ultimate starts at £ 40,665 (almost $ 56,500).
