The company Skoda announced the start of serial production of new model – compact crossover Kamiq. The Assembly established at the head office of the brand in the Czech town of mladá Boleslav.
The European premiere of the Skoda Kamiq was held in March 2019 at the motor show in Geneva. A compact crossover built on the same platform MQB-A0 with a new hatchback Skoda Scala. Its dimensions: length — 241 mm 4, width — 1 793 mm, height — 531 mm. 1 Wheelbase is 2 651 mm.
In the engine range includes three petrol turbo TSI with an output of from 95 to 150 HP and 115 HP diesel. In addition, buyers will offer a bi-fuel version of the 1.0-liter engine G-Tec, the outstanding 90 forces. Among the available transmissions: 5 – and 6-step “mechanics” and 7-step “robot” DSG. Drive – front only, full is not provided even as an option.
Compact crossover Kamiq will be the third in a row and the biggest budget in the SUV-the Skoda lineup, which also includes Kodiaq and Karoq. Since the model is designed, primarily, for the young audience, the list of equipment is varied. Available buyers digital instrument panel, large touch screen media system (diagonal from 6.5 to 9.2-inch), led optics, dynamic cornering, sports suspension lowered by 10 mm ground clearance and an electronically dampers.
Kamiq Skoda sales in Europe start in September. Daily at the plant in mladá Boleslav plan to collect 400 copies. The Czech company has invested in modernization of production about 100 million euros. In addition Kamiq for the same company produce the Octavia, Fabia, Scala, and Karoq.
