Students impressed the Lincoln brand with the Anniversary concept

The Lincoln brand has a long history of friendship with the private ArtCenter in Southern California. Unsurprisingly, four teams of students agreed to fulfill the brand’s challenge to imagine what Lincoln cars would be like in 2040. At the same time, it was necessary to imagine the world in which these cars drive, and to make an animation video.

The futuristic fastback Anniversary stands in stark contrast to Lincoln’s US lineup of SUVs Aviator, Nautilus, Corsair and the Navigator SUV. The brand renounced sedans, although Continental and MKZ remained in China.

Seven students worked on the fastback. Their video was voted “more than impressive”. The plot is simple: Julianne and Greg take a trip to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary and remember the best moments of their youth, looking at the photos on the central display.

Projects titled Glider, Anniversary, Amongst the Stars and Ensemble (video) were highly praised by Chief Designer Kemal Curik, Lincoln CEO Joy Falotico and Ford President Jim Farley. But only one concept was built as a full-size mock-up for the Monterey Car Week auto show, as it reveals “a unique perspective on the brand’s DNA.” By the way, in 2022 Lincoln will celebrate its 100th anniversary with the “global electric car”.
