Changan has started accepting orders for a new Uni-V liftback in China: in the home market, the model is still available in a single configuration and costs 134.9 thousand yuan, which in terms of dollars is about 21,200. For comparison, the closest competitor is Changan Uni -V – Lynk & Co 03 – at a similar execution level costs about 150,000 yuan ($ 23,500 at current exchange rates).
Details about Uni-V appeared last summer. Then it was reported that the liftback is close in design to the Uni-K crossover. At first, the model can only be ordered with a 1.5-liter engine with 188 horsepower paired with a seven-speed “robot” – with this setting, the car accelerates to 205 kilometers per hour. Later, the lineup will be replenished with a modification with a 2.0-liter engine, but the dynamic characteristics of this version are still unknown.
Uni-V is larger than Hyundai Elantra, but more compact than Volkswagen Jetta: the sedan reaches 4.68 meters in length, slightly more than 1.8 meters in width, 1.43 meters in height, and the wheelbase is 2.75 meters.
Among the features of the exterior – a frameless radiator grille and a squat silhouette, and both help to reduce aerodynamic drag. Aerodynamic features include an active spoiler that adds up to 25 kilograms of downforce, and is generally only offered for higher class cars, as well as sports cars and supercars.
