Today, August 19, Subaru launched live sales of the updated version of the fifth generation Forester (SK) crossover in the Japanese domestic market. The cost of new items starts at 2,937,000 yen (about $ 26,700 at the current exchange rate).
Recall that the presentation of the restyled Subaru Forester took place on June 14. The exterior design of the car was refreshed with a different design of the front part. A new front bumper has appeared, the radiator grille is now larger in area, and the LED headlights have become more complex in configuration. The design of the branded rims has also changed.
The car has received sportier chassis settings. On crossovers with a hybrid installation, the e-active shift control system has been introduced, and the efficiency of the EyeSight semi-autopilot has been increased. By expanding the detection angle of the stereo camera, it is now possible to track obstacles in sharp turns.
The line of engines for the Japanese market remained unchanged: you can still choose between a 2.0-liter gasoline “aspirated” with a capacity of 145 hp. and 188 Nm, as well as a 1.8-liter turbo engine with 177 hp. and 300 Nm. In both cases, an opposed engine layout is used. All Subaru Foresters are equipped with a continuously variable variator and permanent all-wheel drive.
With a junior engine, the crossover is sold from 2,937,000 yen (about $ 26,700), the older unit is available in one fixed Sport configuration for 3,330,000 yen (about $ 30,200).
Recall that the SK generation Forester has been produced since 2018. A pre-styling version of the model is still presented on the Ukrainian market, the minimum price is $ 32,500 for a crossover with a 150-horsepower “aspirated” engine in combination with a variator and all-wheel drive.
