Japanese car manufacturer Subaru is about to unveil the Levorg wagon.
So, according to insiders, Levorg will share an improved 2.4-liter boxer turbo engine with the updated Subaru WRX. The Subaru representative office in Australia hinted at the release of a more powerful version of the Subaru Levorg, but the Japanese corporation did not say whether the sports station wagon will get a power unit from the upcoming WRX.
At the same time, there are no other engines in the current Subaru engine lineup that outperform the boxer 177-horsepower (300 Nm) “turbo four” CB18 with a volume of 1.8 liters: it is equipped with Levorg for the Japanese car market. That is why insiders suggest that the “hot” Levorg will be equipped with a modernized 2.4-liter boxer unit with a capacity of more than 272 hp.
Although now all Levorgs use the Lineartronic wedge-chain variator as a transmission, it cannot be ruled out that a station wagon with a 2.4-liter engine will acquire a 6-speed manual transmission. The new Subaru WRX and the “charged” Levorg should debut in the second half of this year, and their sales may start towards the end of 2021.
