The Mercedes-AMG division has posted on the social network the first image of the GT 73 E Performance hybrid litfback, and also announced the debut date of the novelty – September 1. It is already known that the flagship of the AMG line will receive a V8 biturbo engine, a 204 horsepower electric motor and a battery developed in collaboration with Mercedes-AMG Petronas engineers.
The company disclosed the parameters of the power plant of the superliftback with an estimated index of 73 this spring. It is based on a V8 4.0 with two turbochargers, which was assisted by an electric motor (204 forces; 320 Nm), combining into a common unit with a two-stage gearbox and an electronically controlled differential, and a 6.1 kilowatt-hour battery that powers it.
The liftback will retain the AMG Performance 4Matic + all-wheel drive with a mechanical connection through the propeller shaft and axle shafts, and the combined system output will be about 816 forces and 1000 Nm. Six modes of operation will be available – from the all-electric, in which the liftback can accelerate to 130 kilometers per hour, to the “evil” Race, designed for indoor racing tracks.
Also, the hybrid is equipped with an AMG Dynamics switch with several profiles that change the algorithms for the four-wheel drive, stabilization and rear differential. The recuperation system – with four levels of intensity and the ability to drive “with one pedal”, like on an electric car.
