SUV Ferrari Purosangue is nearing production and will be inspired by the recently introduced Roma GT.
Named by marketers Ferrari “FUV” and which will be introduced in 2021. Chief technologist Ferrari Michael Liters explained the technology to Auto Express at the opening of the exhibition in Rome.
“In General, we will have two lines of architecture – family with front and rear location of the engine,” he told us. “Modularity is, and especially in architecture with a front, we should consider many more models. We have 2 + 2, we have 4+, we think of Purosangue and so forth.”
The next V12 Ferrari is unlikely to be an SUV, but according to marketing Director Enrico Galliera, attention has been paid to what happens after that new car – following ultimate flagship model of the brand.
“Yes, we are working on the next hypercar, which will appear after 2022,” said Galliera, talking exclusively to Auto Express.
Galliera hinted that the next hypercar will not provide output power to beat a new 986-horsepower hybrid SF-90. Instead, the Executive Director of Ferrari suggested that his philosophy will focus on lightness, handling and aerodynamics. Thus, it can be a competitor to the Aston Martin Valkyrie who refuses heavy hybrid technology.
