The Taiwanese company plans to start selling this mid-size maxi scooter soon.
The difference with the previous generation is enormous. First of all, the Taiwanese managed not only to reduce the weight, but to achieve its reduction by an impressive 18.5%. The new Maxima steel tubular frame has become not only much lighter, but also stiffer. The redesigned suspension also contributed to the improved handling: the classic “telescope” at the front and a mono-shock with preload adjustment at the rear.
After such a serious “weight loss”, one can expect a noticeable improvement in the dynamic characteristics of the “four hundred”, even though the power has remained unchanged – the same 34 hp. Engineers have managed to meet the Euro 5 environmental standards for a single-cylinder 399cc liquid-cooled injection engine without a drop in power, which is a major achievement in today’s times.
As befits a modern maxi scooter, the new SYM Maxsym 400 features full LED optics, a color LCD dashboard, keyless engine start and traction control. The windshield can be adjusted without the need for a tool, and the seat capacity can accommodate two helmets.
