Tesla has officially announced that it has moved its headquarters from Palo Alto, California to Austin, Texas. Now the headquarters of the electric vehicle manufacturer is located near the new Gigafactory.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to Electrek.
The head of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced the upcoming relocation of the headquarters back in October at the annual meeting of shareholders, without specifying either the details of the move or the specific location.
Earlier, Musk repeatedly resented the restrictions adopted in California in connection with the coronavirus pandemic – because of them, it was allegedly difficult for the automaker to resume production. And soon he himself officially changed his place of residence from California to Texas. It was assumed that the headquarters of the company will move directly to the territory of the new Gigafactory Texas plant.
But on December 1, 2021, Tesla revealed the company’s new headquarters address: 13101 Harold Green Road, Austin, Texas 78725. A quick Google search reveals that the headquarters of the electric vehicle manufacturer is located near the Gigafactory Texas plant in Austin.
And it is possible that it will move there over time – the plant occupies more than 8 million square meters of area, there is enough space for everyone. But it is still very far from the end of its construction. A fresh video filmed by a drone shows that only temporary trailers and auxiliary construction premises and warehouses are located on the territory of the future large enterprise.
At the same time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk claims that the company will continue its activities in California. But how often does Musk keep his promises?
