Tesla will release a humanoid robot next year

American electric car manufacturer Tesla will release humanoid robots called Tesla Bot. This was announced on August 19 by the head of the company, Elon Musk.

“We’re good at sensors and batteries, and we’ll probably have a prototype next year that looks like this,” Musk said shortly after the robot-dressed actor appeared on stage. The entrepreneur remarked that this is not a real robot, but “Tesla Bot will be real.”

The robot was announced as part of the AI Day, a series of events organized by Tesla to recruit machine learning talent. According to preliminary information, the height of the robot will be 172 cm, weight – 57 kg. Its body is planned to be made of lightweight materials. It is planned to introduce 40 electromechanical actuators, a screen in place of the face and hands of the “human level”. The robot will be able to walk at a speed of about 8 km / h and lift objects weighing up to 20 kg.

Musk noted that Tesla Bot is not intended for use in the company’s factories. First of all, he will perform “difficult and boring tasks.” In particular, it can be sent for purchases. The Tesla Bot prototype is slated for release in 2022.
