Toyota Motor Corp. and its subsidiary Hino Motor announced joint plans to develop a large-capacity truck that will drive on hydrogen.
It is reported by the CTS with reference to the Finance area.
Hydrogen truck Hino Profia is developed specially for exploitation in heavy conditions. When designing a chassis configuration that is optimal for trucks with hydrogen fuel cells and has taken a number of steps to reduce its mass, which will provide the maximum load capacity.
Truck transmission equipped with dual batteries fuel cell Toyota FC Stack, which was developed specifically for the next generation of the car Toyota Mirai. From the company Hino car got a motion control system, which uses the technology of hybrid vehicles with large carrying capacity.
At Toyota believe that trucks that daily drive several hundred kilometers, an electric motor and batteries fit not the best way. And hydrogen will allow rather quickly to fill these machines and ensure greater autonomy.
It is noted that on one refueling hydrogen fuel truck with a maximum total mass of 25 tons can travel about 600 km.
