The first electric Nissan SUV will be called Ariya. Information about the new crossover managed to Japanese journalists. Insiders claim that Ariya is designed on a modular platform CMF-EV architecture power plant borrowed from the Leaf patterns and body proportions created on motives of concept cars IMx and IMq.
Appearance novelty is more reminiscent of a concept car Nissan IMx shown in 2017. However, in contrast to the prior art two-year-old Ariya stands traditional design front, classic doors, stock rear view mirrors and door handles. Size Ariya will be comparable to the current Nissan X-Trail.
The basic similarity with the Nissan Leaf didn’t stop the engineers to equip Ariya more efficient power plant. It is known that the first “hundred” electric crossover will exchange in less than five seconds, and power reserve on one charge according to EPA standard will amount to 483 kilometers. In addition, an improved cooling system Ariya get rid of the defect of the model Leaf – overheating batteries.
The interior design is kept secret. It is assumed that the capacity of the electric SUV will not be inferior to the older model Murano. Probably Nissan Ariya will receive modern active safety systems including semi-Autonomous driving technology ProPilot 2.0.
The public debut of the Nissan Ariya will take place tomorrow at the motor show in Tokyo. The timing of the appearance of the model on the line is not clear: Ariya might be on sale in key markets in the second half of 2021.
