The Audi R8 family of mid-engined supercars has undergone revision. It still includes coupes and spiders with a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, but in the summer of this the standard all-wheel drive modifications with a capacity of 570 hp were removed from the range. Now all-wheel drive has remained only in the Audi R8 V10 performance models with a 620-horsepower engine. And now the changes have reached the rear-wheel drive versions.
The performance version with rear-wheel drive has not yet been in the lineup. But now the Audi R8 V10 performance RWD will completely replace the base variant of the model. The main feature of the new modification is the boosted engine, the power of which has been increased from 540 to 570 hp, and the torque – from 540 to 550 Nm.
There is also a limited-slip differential, a progressively grooved steering rack and stiffer carbon fiber anti-roll bars. For an additional fee, customers will be offered carbon-ceramic brakes.
The acceleration time from standstill to 100 km / h remains the same: the performance coupe takes 3.7 seconds, and the spider takes 3.8 seconds. At the same time, the maximum speed has increased by 5 km / h and is now 329 km / h for the coupe and 327 km / h for the spider.
Sales of the Audi R8 V10 performance RWD have already started in Germany. The coupe can be ordered from 149,000 euros and the spider from 162,000 euros. This is 59,000 euros cheaper than the all-wheel drive performance versions.
