Car magazine revealed details about a technical stuffing of the first electric Porsche and talked about his modifications. Basic Taycan get rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants will be called the Carrera 4S and Turbo.
Base rear-wheel drive Porsche Taycan will get the battery to 80 kilowatt-hours and electric capacity or 326 381 horsepower. Taycan Carrera 4S with two electric motors (total output of 435 or 490 horsepower) will be equipped with a battery capacity of 96 kilowatt-hours.
Modification Taycan Turbo will also get two electric motors. Mounted on the front axle will issue 218 forces and 300 Nm of torque, the rear – 408 forces and 550 Nm. Their total output will amount to 629 forces and 880 Nm of torque. However, in the mode overbust moment can reach the peak at 1000 Nm, but only for 10 seconds.
Turbo-version of the electric car will get a two-stage gearboxes with the ability to lock the first gear to protect the drivetrain from damage and rear differential with electronic locking. According to preliminary information, Taycan Turbo will be able to reach the first hundred in 3.2 seconds and 200 kilometers per hour in less than ten seconds. Its maximum speed is 261 kilometers per hour.
The battery is the “Turbation” is the same as Carrera 4S modifications. It consists of 408 battery cells collected in 34 separate module. The battery can withstand 10 accelerations in the floor to 100 kilometers per hour and four to 200. Reserve of 515 kilometers. This powerplant is programmed for the maximum output until it reaches a critical discharge level of the battery, then automatically switches to emergency mode. The battery works under the voltage of 800 volts and supports charging with a power of 250 kilowatts (350 kW in 2021).
Expensive version of the Porsche Taycan will be equipped with active aerodynamics, polnopravnym chassis, active stabilizers, air suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes.
Later in the line may appear in two versions: 734-strong Taycan Turbo S and rear-wheel drive lightweight Taycan GTS.
