BMW continues to fuel interest in the next-generation 2 Series Coupe, which will premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in early June. This time, the Bavarian brand has published the first image of the “two” in the top M Performance configuration, which is hidden in the purple lighting proprietary for the future model. Adjusting the brightness of the image helped to see the details of the exterior.
It is almost impossible to see any details of the design of the future sports modification of the “two” on the officially published picture. However, if you increase the brightness of the displayed image, you can clearly see the M Performance logo on the coupe’s front left fender. In addition, the shot gives a partial idea of the design of the embossed hood, developed bumper and rims similar to the 20-inch 787 M – these are also offered for the restyled X3 / X4.
It is known that the M240i xDrive version will be equipped with a three-liter in-line “six” with a return of 274 horsepower, an eight-speed automatic ZF, all-wheel drive and a limited slip differential in the rear axle. In addition, the interior of the top-of-the-range two-door is expected to feature sporty decor and BMW M-branded logos.
The official premiere of the new BMW 2 Series will take place at the UK Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place from 8 to 11 July. Perhaps the Bavarian engineers will prepare a “charged” modification of the new two-door for the exhibition.
In early July, the web revealed the appearance of the new 2 Series coupe. “Deuce” received optics uncharacteristic for Bavarian models, door handles for a reverse grip, as well as unusual triangular air intakes and small “nostrils”.
