The confusion in the law have fallen off the market electric cars

Despite the overall growth in the July demand for cars, as already mentioned, registration of electric vehicles in the past month declined. For months Ukrainians cleared and registered 799 vehicles that run solely on electricity. This was 6% lower than a year earlier and 3 percent less than the June result, according to Ukrautoprom.

Obviously, a negative trend was provoked by the confusion in the law caused by a change in the coding system of goods.

We will remind, on June 4, 2020, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft Law on customs tariff that changed July 1, the codification of vehicles equipped solely with electric motors. At the same time, the deputies forgot to make the appropriate changes to the Tax code, which jeopardized the possibility of further use of the benefit of exemption from payment of VAT.

For reference: the Gostamsluzhby and Tax their letters explained that from 1 July, since the introduction of the new Customs tariff incentives to import of electric vehicles continue to have effect in full.

According to Ukrautoprom, in July passed its first registration in Ukraine of electric vehicles: 766 PCs this passenger cars and 33 PCs – commercial.

The share of used machinery in part of the automobile made up 92%, and commercial – 100%.

The most popular electric vehicles on the Ukrainian market is the NISSAN Leaf. During the month the fleet of the country replenished with 234 cars of this model.
