The eighth generation of the legendary German hatchback will only appear for the New year. In the meantime, the automaker is preparing to launch serial production of the model.
Volkswagen Golf the next generation was supposed to debut in October of this year, but because of problems with the management of the company had to postpone the announced presentation. According to foreign automotive media, the eighth generation of the hatchback will hit the market in February 2020.
The difficulties that prevent an early debut, were resolved very quickly, so in the end, the new VW Golf will be released as planned earlier. But the serial production of the hatchback will start only at the end of 2019. These preliminary terms correspond to earlier promises.
The new Golf is based on a modular architecture MQB, and its engine lineup, according to preliminary information, will consist of three – and four-cylinder engines one and two liters. A couple of them will be 6МКПП or seven-step “robot”. Recall, the hatchback Volkswagen Golf enjoys among Europeans particularly popular: for several years he is a leader in sales on the European market. Just last year, despite the decline in demand, local dealers managed to find owners for 150 thousand such cars.
