The European car market continued to fall


At the end of August this year, sales of new passenger cars in Europe fell by 18.1% and amounted to 724,710 cars.

According to the results of eight months of 2021, new car sales in Europe amounted to 8 million 188 thousand 886 units, which is 12.7% more than a year ago.

Among automakers, Volkswagen sold the largest number of cars in Europe last month, with 85 433 cars, which is 12.6% less than in August 2020. Toyota kept the second place with 49,966 vehicles (+ 1.1%). BMW closes the top three with a result of 43,562 cars (-14.7%).

In addition, Audi (40,338 units, -6.2%) and Hyundai (38,143 units, + 2.2%) were in the top five.
