Sales of passenger cars in Europe in November decreased by 17.5% and amounted to 864 thousand 119 units. According to the European Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA), this is the worst result in November since 1993. At the same time, negative dynamics has been noted for the fifth month in a row, which is due to the continuing interruptions in the supply of new cars due to the lack of semiconductors for their production.
According to the results of 11 months of 2021, the sales of cars in the EU amounted to 10 million 824 thousand 670 units. (+ 0.8%).
Among automakers, the largest number of cars in the European Union was sold in November by the Volkswagen concern – 77 thousand 655 units. (-36.5%). The second place was taken with the indicator of Renault 53 thousand 959 units. (-21.3%). The third line is occupied by Peugeot, which sold 52 thousand 681 units. (-20.3%). This time, Mercedes-Benz (52 thousand 541 units, -24.9%) and Toyota (51 thousand 950 units, -9.3%) round out the top five.
