During the Tilal Swaihan Mile 2022 race in the UAE, the heavy-duty Nissan Patrol was unveiled. A video has appeared on the Web of how an SUV accelerates at a distance in the desert to 355.6 kilometers per hour, that is, it is faster than the most powerful luxury SUV in the world – the Aston Martin DBX 707, whose maximum speed is limited to 310 kilometers per hour. There are few details about the tuned Patrol, it is only known that it is equipped with a twin-turbo engine.
Carbuzz.com reports that other SUVs also took part in the races. For example, among them was the GT-R’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 Patrol, which develops about 2,400 horsepower. He managed to squeeze out 219.8 miles per hour (almost 354 kilometers per hour). Another full carbon Patrol achieved 214.59 miles per hour (344 kilometers per hour).
As for the production Nissan Patrol, according to Automotive News, it will soon receive a new engine: the current 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 will be replaced by a 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. It will be more economical than the G8, but at the same time it will surpass it in terms of traction capabilities at low revs. The debut of an SUV with a new unit may take place as early as 2023.
