Rendered images of a new generation Lada Niva SUV have appeared on the Behance website. The author of the project is then designer Tokhtar Abdrakhmanov, who currently works in the Shanghai design studio of the Italian company Icona Design. However, we are talking only about sketches that show how the next generation model might look like.
The three-door SUV received large rims, narrow LED optics, “hidden” door handles, massive bumpers, an unusual radiator grille and additional body protection. The off-road vehicle lights are connected into a single block by a luminous strip.
Also, the new Lada Niva was equipped with a special expeditionary trunk. In some of the images, it has a spare wheel and gasoline cans attached to it. As the author of the project pointed out, in addition to the Niva itself, he was inspired by the Smena camera and the BelAZ truck.
It is still unknown how the real Lada Niva of the new generation will look like. The car is expected to premiere in 2024. At the moment, it is known that the SUV will move to a new platform. This “cart” is called CMF-B and is already used by the Romanian Dacia on the new Logan and Sandero.
The base engine is likely to be a 1.6-liter “aspirated” with a capacity of 114 horsepower. Also, customers will be offered a new 1.3-liter turbo engine, which was developed by Renault in cooperation with Daimler and is already being installed on the second generation Renault Duster, as well as on the Renault Arkana crossover.
