When the Korean automaker unveiled the full-length 2022 KIA Sportage this week, it was easy to gauge the public’s reaction. Some people didn’t like its polarizing design. Others praised Kia’s commitment to creating a completely different shape for the next-generation model as part of its shift to the United Opposites design language that began with the KIA EV6.
Clean lines and several unprecedented design elements are present in the final Sportage design. Now a video on YouTube has appeared on the web. The footage allows you to get a better idea of the new model visible in the metal. Most importantly, the Sportage here is finished in black, which suits the busy design very well.
The LED DRL boomerangs stand out from the front, while the black highlights from other lighting elements match well with the body color.
Sportage has a different set of wheels in the video review. Unlike media photography, discs look more conservative. It is possible that this is just one of the wheel options, depending on the trim level.
In any case, the 2022 Sportage will arrive this year and hit the market immediately after. As for the powertrain, KIA said these parts will appear in the full version of the model. No date has been set yet.
