MINI is preparing for the presentation, Cooper SE 2020, which will be held on 9th July, and is trying to stir interest in the new product, releasing a new teaser video.
The clip, dubbed “Charged with passion,” demonstrates some of the classic MINI models, and then gives an idea about the upcoming electric vehicle. Unfortunately, it is very little to see, except the charging port and the familiar shape of the hatchback.
Fortunately, we already have spy photos of the production version, which can be noticed a completely closed front grille, and unique coloring, as for the power plant – Cooper SE will get 33 kWh lithium-ion battery with a modest range in 183 kilometres.
Note that not only the lithium ion battery of the new MINI can scare away potential customers, but electric models are weaker than the competition from Chevrolet and Nissan Leaf Plus – 181 horsepower.
Overall, MINI claims that the Cooper SE will be “the spirit of the inventor and an iconic design.” Start of sales is scheduled for November 2019, but pre-orders for the model already available in several European countries and in the United States.
