The largest Land Rover Defender first caught by photo eupies

The Land Rover brand has brought the longest version of the new generation Defender SUV to test drives: pictures of the camouflaged prototype were published by Motor1. It is planned that the length of the body of the novelty will exceed five meters, which will make the model larger than the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

In the photos presented, the new version of the Land Rover Defender is covered with camouflage film, but judging by the outlines of the car, the only change in the body design will be the lengthened rear end. Otherwise, such a Defender SUV (it is planned that it will receive an index of 130) will not externally differ from other modifications: first of all, from the Defender 110.

There is no information yet about how the new wheelbase will change. According to preliminary information, such a car will stretch up to 5100 mm in length, which will make it about 350 mm longer than the Defender 110 version, and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV will surpass by about 230 mm.

Increasing the size of the car will make it possible to accommodate the third row of seats in the Defender 130 version, thereby increasing the passenger capacity of the model to 8 people. Radical changes in the interior of the novelty, with the exception of additional seats, are also not expected.

It is expected that the Land Rover Defender 130 variant will be delivered to the market only in the most expensive versions and only with the most powerful engines, including the boosted up to 550 hp. unit V8. Presumably, the base “engine” for the novelty will be a “soft hybrid” power plant based on a gasoline inline-six with a capacity of 360 hp. There is no information yet when exactly the Defender 130 will officially debut.
