Volkswagen has named a new leader: it will be Ralph Brandstetter, who previously held the position of operations Director. The current head of the Volkswagen Herbert Diss, in turn, will remain Chairman of the Board of VW AG. The candidacy of Brandstetter was chosen after much debate within the group and discussions with Union leaders.
A few days before the publication Auto Motor und Sport reported that the head of Volkswagen will become the Oliver Blum, who currently holds the post of Executive Director of the Porsche. This would cause another permutation within the group: in place of the bloom was predicted to Bernhard Mayer, who now heads the Skoda.
However, against the candidacy of the Blum made the Union, as the head of Porsche consider a puppet of the Diess, the leadership of which the workers were dissatisfied because of the decision about the mass layoffs at German factories. As a result, after discussion with the leaders of the trade Union and disputes within the company, it was decided to put at the helm of Volkswagen Ralph Brandstetter.
On new post Brandstetter have to solve a number of serious problems, including the development of a new architecture for an electric vehicle ID.3, which can disrupt the timing of the launch models and the problems with Golf the eighth generation, the supply of which was suspended because of an error in the code.
