Long-announced electric car from Volvo and Geely under the brand Polestar is preparing to enter the market. The model with the index “2” has received an official price tag, and began accepting pre-orders. Deliveries will begin in June next year.
Polestar 2 is the main competitor for the “affordable” Tesla Model 3. They are very similar in price and characteristics. The cost model will start from 47 000 euros. But this cost is only for customers from Norway. In the UK, the price tag will begin from € 56,000 in Germany from 58 000 Euro, in Belgium and the Netherlands, from 60 000 Euro, and the Swedes will have to pay 61 000 euros.
In fairness it should be noted that the price given includes VAT and prepaid maintenance for three years for all areas where the car is officially sold.
At the moment the price is not published for the cheapest version, which should appear later. Initially 2 Polestar will only be offered in twin-engine layout with all-wheel drive. As the power source battery is used 78 kWh, and the total capacity of the motors will be 300 kW, which is equivalent to 408 horsepower.
In comparison with the Tesla Model 3 price tag varies depending on the places of sales, but overall it is somewhat cheaper in all-wheel drive version. In Germany, the difference is 7 000 euros, and in the Netherlands € 1,000. The power and reserve are almost identical.
