The market is not omnivorous: no popular models – no sales


In the first month of 2022, Ukrainians purchased and registered 5.3 thousand new passenger cars. Compared to last year, the January replenishment of the country’s car fleet with new cars decreased by 7%, Ukravtoprom reports.

The best January result on the Ukrainian market of new cars was demonstrated by the French brand Renault, 904 cars of which acquired their first owners. At the same time, compared to January 2021, Renault sales in Ukraine increased by almost a quarter.

The second most popular brand was Toyota with 596 registered cars. Toyota is 39 percent behind its year-over-year figure.

Third place in the rating of Chery brands – 364 new cars of this brand have replenished the Ukrainian fleet, which is 2.3 times more than a year earlier.

Fourth in terms of the number of plates received (303) was the Korean brand Hyundai, which improved its figure by 9 percent last year.

Skoda closes the top five in January with a result of 280 cars (-42%).

Also in the TOP – 10 of the month included: Peugeot – 248 units. (+36%); Nissan – 244 pcs. (-twenty%); Volkswagen – 242 pcs. (+58%); Mitsubishi – 196 pcs. (+25%); Kia – 188 pcs. (-43%).

The bestseller of January 2022 was the RENAULT Duster with 516 registrations.
