The Japanese brand has announced that by July this year will begin serial production of the special version of the Toyota Prius 2021 model year. The new edition will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of hybrid cars in the US automotive market.
Thanks to the Toyota Prius, which was introduced in December 1997, the Japanese brand has started its dominance in the segment of hybrid cars. In fact, since that “fateful day”, the brand has sold more than 15 million cars with hybrid powertrains that have contributed 120 million tons less CO2 compared to gasoline counterparts.
In the United States, the Prius was introduced in 2001. To celebrate the event, Toyota is releasing a commemorative version of the hybrid sedan model year 2021, which is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the car in the car market of this country.
Information about the jubilee version of the hybrid Prius is currently a bit sparse, but still some details are already known to us. For example, the novelty will receive one of the highest prices for the Prius. The car will come in two non-exclusive colors: Red and Supersonic Wind Chill Pearl – the latter designed to replace the current Blizzard Pearl. Prius 20th Anniversary Edition will only be shipped with black Softex interior. The fuel consumption for the upcoming new items not yet disclosed.
Serial production of the special version of the Prius will start by July of this year, but don’t be surprised if the start of sales may be postponed due to the current pandemic coronavirus.
