The American tuning studio Hennessey Performance from Texas has presented a new project based on the most powerful Ford Mustang in history. The Mustang Shelby GT500 was taken as a basis, which was turned into a Venom 1000 supercar – a car capable of competing with the Bugatti Veyron hypercar in its power. Hennessey Performance R&D Director Jason Haynes personally undertook to demonstrate all the capabilities of the modified sports car.
The standard Shelby GT500 is equipped with a 5.2-liter V8 engine that develops 770 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque. The Hennessey Venom 1000 kept the standard supercharger, but the tuning studio upgraded the supercharger cooling system, improved the fuel system and adapted the engine to run on E85 bioethanol.
All these improvements allowed to increase the output of the unit to 1000 horsepower and 1152 Newton meters of torque. The tuners do not offer any modifications to the body or interior for the Hennessey Venom 1000.
But the cost of the sports car includes a warranty (three years or 36 thousand miles), tests of the assembled car on a dyno and road tests by Hennessey Performance test pilots, who can drive up to 650 kilometers on each finished car.
