The most “terrible” cars

The most popular vehicle among the heroes of horror films is the Ford F-150 pickup truck. This was found out by the British car dealer Bristol Street Motors, who studied more than seven hundred cars that took part in the filming of the 50 best horror films according to Empire magazine. In addition to the F-150, other Fords also appear in the ranking, compiled on the eve of Halloween: in general, they dominate, noticeably ahead of other brands in terms of frequency of screen appearances.

Bristol Street Motors estimates that Ford F-Series vehicles have appeared in 13 of the Empire’s 50 movies. Among them is “Maximum Acceleration” 1986, directed by Stephen King based on his own novel and twice nominated for “Golden Raspberry”, as well as other low-budget films.

In addition to the F-Series, the top ten cars that regularly star in horror films include the Ford Crown Victoria, Cadillac Fleetwood, Chevrolet C / K, Ford Custom, Ford LTD Country Squire, Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Escort, Ford Mustang and Ford Transit.

In general, Ford cars have been seen in 50 films as much as 113 times, which makes it the absolute leader in the rating. Next came another American brand – Chevrolet, which has 64 scenes. Volkswagen closes the top three, followed by Dodge, Fiat, Pontiac, Toyota, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Honda. The last cars were seen 14 times on the screen.
