It’s been almost 2 years since we last heard about the brand Wiesmann, which has announced a new partnership with BMW in October 2017.
The collaboration between the two companies finally materialized in the new model, which will be presented at the IAA in Frankfurt am main, 2019 in early September. We have the first picture of this car, and it already looks promising.
Foreign media published a photo of the car under a cover made at the factory of the brand in the town of Dülmen in the German region of North Rhine-Westphalia. It depicts a two-door coupe with a muscular side profile and the front panel, which uses a proprietary grille design Wiesmann. It is surrounded by headlights, the shape and design of which is not yet possible to see.
Apparently, the car can be an updated version of the GT MF4-CS, which was first introduced ??during the Geneva motor show 2013. Then under the hood of the model was hiding a V8 providing 420 HP of power and allowing the coupe to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds. A top speed of 293 km/h.
If our assumptions are correct, Wiesmann will be installed in the underhood space of the new V8. Due to the aforementioned partnership with BMW, the company will have access to the 4.4-litre unit S64, which is used in the current M5. In the “charged” sedan from Bavaria this engine produces 600 HP of power and 750 Nm of torque as standard and 625 HP in the modification Competition. At the moment the exact terms of the power of the new model Wiesmann unknown, but expect that they will be significantly above the level 420 HP, as it was the GT MF4-CS.
