Czech Skoda has begun mass production of the fourth-generation Fabia compact hatchback at a plant in Mlada Boleslav. According to the press service of the company, the car leaves the same line along with the Scala and Kamiq models. The Czechs had to invest 110 million euros in the modernization of production processes.
“Numerous complex and physically demanding production stages are now performed by robots, which has made it possible to achieve a high level of automation of production processes,” said Skoda.
The fourth Skoda Fabia was built on the MQB-A0 platform. Thanks to this, the novelty has slightly increased in size compared to its predecessor, and the volume of the luggage compartment has increased by 50 liters – up to 380 liters.
Top modifications Fabia received a 1.5-liter “turbo four”, which develops 150 horsepower. The list of available electronic “assistants” includes adaptive cruise control, a lane-keeping system and a parking assistant.
