Photospy tracked down the next-generation Accent (aka Verna and Solaris in various markets) prototype sedan during a road test. It looks like it will borrow design features from the older Elantra model.
The prototype of the new Hyundai Accent is still hidden from all the curious by several layers of camouflage. Nevertheless, in a number of ways, this car resembles the larger and more expensive seventh-generation Hyundai Elantra sedan. So, common “motives” are guessed in the rear pillars, the shape of the lamps and the contours of the wide radiator grille.
Right now, little is known about this model. According to Carscoops, for some markets Hyundai is preparing petrol and diesel versions with 1.5-liter engines, complemented by mild hybrid technology.
The timing of the next generation of Accent/Verna/Solaris is unknown. The current (fifth) generation Accent is produced in Mexico, India, China, and several other countries. At the same time, in South Korea, which is native to the brand, the model was removed from sales due to low demand, releasing a compact Venue SUV instead.
